Foreign Policy

The Decision Making Process of Leaders.

Materials

Description

This is a new course that combines lectures on campus in College Park with a study abroad component in Havana, Cuba.

  • The lectures on campus will focus on different strategies for studying foreign policy decision making.

  • The class will travel to Cuba to learn about several foreign policy events that shaped much of the foreign policy of the United States in this region.

  • Financial aid and/or need-based scholarships may be available.

Restrictions on Travel to Cuba

The Trump Administration recently altered its rules for travel to Cuba by US Citizens. Educational travel by academic institutions is exempt from these restrictions, so the trip for this class will proceed as originally planned. This program falls under the umbrella of “authorized educational travel” pursuant to U.S Federal Regulations code 31 CFR § 515.565 (2).
